Cyanotypes Intro Workshop

Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 11:00am to 3:00pm

Cyanotype: A Photographic blueprint. Do you want to learn how to make a Cyanotype?

Cyanotype is a 170 year old photographic printing process that produces prints in a distinctive dare greenish-blue.  This process is the origin of the "blue print".  The word "Cyan" comes from the Greek, meaning "dark blue substance".   Fun fact: the color of cyanotypes resembled the uniforms of the Prussian Army, and so was the color Prussian Blue!  No darkroom is needed, instead it uses the power of the sun and iron salt solutions rather thans the silver salt solutions of black and white photography.  Learn the entire process of creating cyanotypes using cyanotype chemicals, found objects from nature (you can bring some favorites) and the sun!
No experience necessary.
